Hiya, AASA fam! I hope you are doing great in this super cold weather! Thank you all who came to our social justice board meeting and Himalayan Kitchen dinner! We had an awesome turnout for both events so thank you very much for all your support! :) A few updates for yal:
AASA Fundraising Board Meeting | Nov. 18th Everyone please be sure to attend our fundraising board meeting! Our fundraising director Hamza will be talking about ways we can help support AASA's awareness week + high school conference and we'd love to hear your input and great ideas! :) The meeting will be on Tuesday at 2-3pm in the Union Building room 311! (Ask info desk for directions if unsure about location!)
AASA Member Meeting | Nov. 21st Everyone needs to attend this meeting! Why? 1. Because AASA is amazing and we make all your hopes and dreams come true and 2. We have a surprise video that we'd like to share with you all! Our dedicated directors of conference have worked very hard in completing this project, so please attend the meeting if you want to see what all the hype is about! (Same place as always, CESA at 2pm this Friday!)
AASA November Social: Mocking Jay Part 1 | Nov. 22nd ATTENTION! Our November social is literally going to be so amazing, you cannot miss it. AASA will be watching Mocking Jay Part 1 this Saturday the 22nd at 6:30pm at Megaplex theaters in Gateway mall (165 S. Rio Grande St.)! AASA will be sitting is row "L" so be sure to buy your tickets here! [Flyer is attached.]
VASA November Social: Bowling! | Nov. 21st VASA will be bowling at Bonwood Bowl 2500 S. Main Street on Friday the 21st at 7pm! They have a special where you get 3 three games including shoe rental, for just $9. It's a great deal so come on out and have some fun!
Inter-Tribal Cultural Social | Nov. 21st Come enjoy an evening to experience Native American Culture through dancing, songs, food and games! This event will be held in the American Indian Resource Center (AIRC) from 4-6pm! Everyone is invited so do come for a great time!
OSSA Neon Lights Dance | Nov. 21st Operation Smile Student Association (OSSA) is hosting a "Neon Nights" dance this November 21st from 9pm-12am! Tickets are $8 in advance! This includes body paint and a photo, so please help support by attending as the money goes directly to Operation Smile! For more info on how to purchase tickets, click here! BIG news! During our dance on Friday (Neon Nights), one lucky raffle winner will be going home with a beautiful 32" flat screen TV! All you have to do is purchase raffle tickets from us starting Monday. Alternative Spring Break | Mar. 14th- 21st Want something exciting and rewarding to do this Spring break? Apply for the U's Alternative Spring Break program! Applications are due this Friday at 11:59pm so hurry and apply! For any students interested in social justice or environmental justice, we guarantee you will walk away impacted! Rock the U Dance Marathon | Mar. 27th-28th Join us in the fight against cancer at the upcoming 2015 Rock the U Dance-a-thon! Stay on your feet for the full 12-hours or dance a few hours at any part of the night. Entry fee is $10 with 100% of the proceeds going to the Huntsman Cancer Institute. Utah Human Race 2014 | Nov. 27th The Utah Human Race is one of the largest 5K/10K events in the state with 5,500 participants in 2013! All proceeds of the event benefit Utah Food Bank. Persons who run in a group of five or more get a $5 discount! to register, click here.
