AASA's annual High School Conference is coming up in just 37 days! This event invites high school students to come to the U and learn about what college has to offer. This is AASA's biggest event and we'll be needing volunteers! The link for online volunteer registration is riiiiight here! Volunteer Opportunity for MLK Service Day | Saturday, January 18th | 8:30AM-12:00PM
In honor of Martin Luther King Jr Day, AASA will be participating in a service project through the Bennion Center, where we will be organizing and sorting donations at YMCA! There will be free breakfast @ the Union Food Court 8:30AM, then carpooling to the project site. You can also meet us there directly (at 322 E 300 S) around 9-9:15AM. The Socio-political Dimension of the Visual: Nepal Art in the Time of Transition | Thursday, January 23rd | 2:00PM-3:30PM
Sujan Chitrakar, a Fulbright Fellow from Nepal, will be speaking at the Hinckley Caucus Room (255 Orson Spencer Hall OSH bldg) about how artists are responding to current socio-political events in Nepal. He is a Kathmandu based visual artist, as well as an art educator at Kathmandu University :D

UExplore offer Open Houses, which are workshops in the Union Den to help students who may be undecided, or want to explore other Majors or Minors by chatting with faculty, students, and alumni :D Much more info on the poster attached below!

AASA has been invited by the Sundance Institute to attend a special screening of the documentary 'To Be Takei' at the Rose Wagner Theatre (138 W 300 S). You need a ticket to attend, and were given 50 tickets which can be picked up at the CESA Office!

The Organization of Chinese Americans is offering a paid summer internship in Washington D.C., where interns will get the chance to work in the public sector, engage in weekly discussions on APA (Asian Pacific American) issues, and attend the OCA National Convention in Los Angeles from August 7-10. Pre-med Research Opportunity - Great for Pre-med students!
The U of U School of Medicine is looking for a part-time volunteer to help with research in Orthopaedics; they are trying to fill this position ASAP! You will be asked to segment MRI images of the hip to identify the iliopsoas muscle, enter clinical data, and be supervised by a Post-Doc Research Associate and a Medical Student in a 3-6 month long study. This opportunity may lead you to assist with bigger projects as well as even starting one on your own!
