THIS YEAR'S HSC: BRAND YOURSELF
March 5, 2021
This year's conference was aimed to inspire students to make a name for themselves as an Asian/Asian American using experiences and to encourage the pursuit of higher education. With a focus on Asian Americans in film, media, and entertainment, students learned the importance of having representation on various platforms.
The Asian American High School Conference is an annual event dedicated to promoting post-secondary education and providing educational resources to high school students around the state of Utah. Held in early spring, the conference brings hundreds of students to the University of Utah for a day of cultural and educational workshops. Students go through multiple workshops that cover various topics, including majors, programs, scholarships, financial aid, leadership opportunities, cultural exploration, and Asian American identity. Students also have the opportunity to engage with community leaders and university advisors, administrators, professors, and students. This event provides students the chance to establish meaningful connections while learning about the importance of higher education and exploring self-identity and Asian cultures and issues.
This event is free for all students, and AASA will provide free breakfast and lunch for all participants. More information will be released as the event approaches.
